Here in this article, We gonna see about sprouting
beans at home
The most
efficient way to sprout moong beans at home.
Mung sprouts
are easier and better to prepare at home than processed sprouts. Usually I make
mung beans and various bean sprouts at home. There are two different ways to
sprout buds you don't have to worry.
The strategy
which I mentioned below is the most followed technique,
· Measure the amount of whole mung
beans you need to sprout. Clean the mung beans. Now wash the beans 3-4 times
with water.
· Take the mung beans in a bowl. Add
water and cover up to 1 inch over moong beans.
· Cover the bowl with a lid and let it
soak over a period of 8-10 hours.
· After long hours of soaking the beans would swell. Thoroughly
drain the mung beans from the remaining water. Now place the beans in a similar
bowl or another. Cover the bowl and keep it aside for two days. You can check
again in a day and you will see the buds appear. After two days, you will see
delicious mung bean sprouts.
Growing Mung
Beans – Method 2
· Soak the mung beans overnight
following the same steps as said before.
· The next day, drain all the water
from the soaked mung beans and damp it with a clean kitchen cloth or towel.
Tightly wrap the beans with this cloth and leave it for about one or two days.
Leave the top of the support, loosely. This means closing at the highest point
of the hanging towel leaves air for the beans.
· After one day you will see young
shoots which will sprout after two days. For longer shoots, you can save them
for another day. These growing beans will stay fresh in the fridge for a day or
two.
Health Benefits
- Peptides are produced in sprouting beans and they are well known for reducing blood pressure
- The proteins and peptides in bean sprouts helps in preventing cancer.
- As the sprouts are rich in dietary fibres they aid digestion
- Because bean sprouts have high levels of antioxidants, they may help protect you from developing common eye conditions, including age related degeneration.
