Uber shakes hands with Chennai
TN Elections: Chennai joins hands with Uber to send incompetents to the polls
People with disabilities can call the dedicated helpline designated by the city agency to cast their vote on polling day and get a promotional code that they can use in Uber App.

Chennai: City Corporation, along with Uber, has planned to send about 3,000 disabled people to the polls.
People with disabilities can call the special helpline set up by the city agency to present themselves in the blink of an eye before polling day, and get a specific time code that they can use when booking. Request via Uber to go to the polling booth. Similarly, it can be used again for returning home.

The coupon is about maximum of 200 rupees, additional costs
are borne by designated travelers, adding that the code could not be misused
because it could only be accessed by the party and are limited.
"We are working with disability rights activists to
help us provide a code for people with disabilities." Disability rights
activists welcome this, but they say the current coupons for 3,000 people are
not enough.
"People under the age of 45 are at higher risk of dying
from Covid-19 than those under the age of 45. In addition, older people have to
be protected from not getting infected.Uber’s approach to bringing the plate to
the table and incurring some costs is commendable, but bees are quite numerous.
He added that this is being done by politicians to include
all the disabled and the elderly, and with only one day left in the city to go
to the polls, there is no data to reach such an office. This is another
concern, according to activists.
